What can I do about my old paint cans?

If there is only a small amount in the can, leave the lid off to dry. If there is more than what will air dry, add cat litter or sawdust to the paint to decrease the drying time. Once the paint is dry, leave the lid off, and it can be disposed of at West End Salvage.

Do I need a title to junk out my vehicle?

Yes! You are required, by law, to sign over the title to the vehicle you are selling for junk. If a title is not available, we can supply you with a Bill of Sale to fill out.

Why do you need to check the VIN number before you salvage my vehicle?

At West End, we check your VIN number to verify there is no lien against the vehicle. If we purchase a vehicle that has a lien, we are buying that lien, therefore, becoming responsible for it ourselves.

Why am I being charged to dispose of a TV or computer monitor?

The devices don’t yield valuable material, and the recycling process is costly. The monetary value in electronics recycling comes from breaking down consumer goods into component parts that can then be sold back into the manufacturing supply chain as raw material. Products like old TVs and computer monitors were typically shelled in wood or plastic, materials with little recovery value.
